Traditional Opening Ceremony for our home.
First experience of squatting in front of this charcoal stove & fanning the flames like I'm cooking traditional medicine.
Took long time to get water boiling. N was laughing away at the side.

Moved In!

Thank you for all my dearest friends' concerns... my house renovations are 90% done!

I have officially moved in on Wednesday 30 July 2008! Supposedly an auspicious day. (Also before the lunar 7th month)

I had to fire up a small charcoal stove & boil water on it. So primitive but rather fun :)
I was fanning the flames & trying to speed up the boiling process... hahah like old ah-ma cooking medicine

It's a Hokkien tradition to have family member drink the water that was boiled from this kettle.

I will be posting a little less as I have no internet access in my new place, as yet....
